Education and info:

Studied GSA, winning top student awards locally and nationally. Scholarship to Italy. Later crossed the Sahara and worked in West Africa. Returning to UK, invited to teach in Painting School at GSA. On winning major Arts Council award, set up own painting school, later relocated to France. Elected RSW 1964.

 

Awards and Exhibitions:

In 1972 presented art series for Scottish Television and in 1973 designed set/costumes for ‘Embers’ by Scottish Ballet. Elected Chairman, Glasgow League of Artists 1977. Elected President Glasgow Art Club 1997; FRSA 1999. In recent years has worked in Japan, India, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, France and Spain. Major exhibitions in New York, Venice, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Kawasaki, Singapore, Johannesburg, Bilbao, Paris, The Hague, Maastricht, London, Edinburgh. Works in international collections including National Portrait Gallery (Edinburgh), Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, London Stock Exchange, De Beer (South Africa and Luxemburg), Dutch Water Board etc.
